I feel you, Carlyn. Being on and off dating apps for a few years, I feel the frustration. Last year, I even posted a piece about how Tinder app could've been redesigned to help people increase the chances of finding love.
A few things in this post resonate with me, however, I must say, this isn't just the online dating. My single friends and myself have been noticing the "ageing population of singles" trend.
The apps are just tools and, despite not finding the life partner, I'm still grateful for all the interesting (as well as the average and heart-breaking) experiences I've had thanks to the dating apps.
Without the apps it has become very hard to meet new people as an adult. Maybe the problem isn't the apps, but the lack of other places or opportunities to meet new people and normalise approaching a stranger?
